Half Season Coach
Half-Season Team Coach
Part-Time, Seasonal | Reports to: All-Star Director
Position Summary
At HEAT All-Stars, our Half-Season Teams are often an athlete’s first introduction to competitive cheer. As a Half-Season Team Coach, you’ll create a positive, organized environment where athletes build confidence, learn strong fundamentals, and fall in love with the sport — all while leading with the values that define HEAT: Integrity, Commitment, and Effort.
Winning is never the point of our Half-Season Program. Building athletes who improve as people, not just cheerleaders, is.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and lead energetic, well-organized team practices.
- Teach fundamentals — motions, jumps, stunts, tumbling, dance, and performance — appropriate to the team’s level.
- Build teamwork, accountability, confidence, and sportsmanship.
- Prepare athletes for showcases, performances, and competitions.
- Maintain a safe training environment per HEAT and USASF guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and gym leadership.
- Track athlete progress and flag opportunities for growth.
- Support team events, clinics, and program activities.
- Represent HEAT All-Stars professionally inside and outside the gym.
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for coaching and mentoring young athletes.
- A positive, motivating presence with athletes of varying ages and abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Organization and dependability.
- A collaborative mindset — you work well with fellow coaches and gym leadership.
- A commitment to your own growth as a coach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cheerleading, gymnastics, dance, or related coaching experience.
- Experience working with youth athletes.
- Knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals and athlete safety.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Evening and weekend availability.
